The Wikimedia Community Usergroup in Uganda has invited three Creative Commons Tanzania members( Aristarik Maro, Emmanuel Malongo, and Fortunate Kayuni) to attend East Africa Strategy Summit to join Wikimedia leaders, volunteers, and partners from across East Africa (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia, Burundi, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo) for discussions about what structural changes are needed to work towards our Wikimedia 2030 vision, the future of our global movement and of free knowledge in the region.
The East Africa Strategy Summit is a focused event that brings East African voices to the global conversation about the future of Wikimedia while building a sense of regional identity and collaboration. The main goal of the summit is to bring together participants and new voices from across East Africa to share insight and perspective about the future of Wikimedia movement as part of the Wikimedia 2030 Movement Strategy process.
The East Africa Strategy Summit will be held on 7th-8th September 2019 at Protea Hotel (Elgon Terrace, 9421, John Babiha (Acacia) Avenue, Kampala – Uganda).
Creative Commons Tanzania initiated a collaboration with Wikimedia Tanzania as taking into account both are the key stakeholders of the ecosystem of free knowledge sharing.
